Design Your Own Labels:

Intuitive tools allow you to import logos, photos, and other graphics into the Custom QuickLabel workspace. It’s easy to export graphics from Adobe Photoshop® or Illustrator® in one of the supported graphic file types. You can easily move around your graphic elements, add text, auto shapes, and barcodes.

Make Labels in Fancy Shapes:

A QuickLabel printer allows you to print on pre-die cut labels, so you can print custom label shapes in ovals, circles, trapezoids, and other special label shapes. How can you make sure that your graphics, text, and other label content line up to print on the label shape? You can use Custom QuickLabel software to create label formats that fit your exact label shape and size.

Create Label Templates:

Once you’ve created a label layout with your logo, graphics, ingredients, nutrition facts panel, or any other information, you can save your label as a template. This is an easy way to create a new label based on your existing design, because you can re-use some common design elements such as your company logo and address, as well as printer settings and media type setting.

Creating a label template also prevents your original label design from being over-written by accidental edits, and ensures that you’ll always be able to re-print the identical label in the future.

Print Variable Information Labels:

Create labels with variable fields that directly connect to your database. When you print labels, the variable fields automatically populate with data and your labels print with information from your database.

Manage Multiple Label Print Jobs:

You can choose much more than how many labels you’d like to print. The Custom QuickLabel Print Manager lets you build “queues” of multiple label print jobs, and allows you to alternate printing different labels, or printing different label formats, with its advanced label printing manager.

Generate Barcodes, Including Serialized Barcodes:

If you’re using a “barcode font” or creating barcodes by copy-and-pasting them in a graphic design program, Custom QuickLabel will allow you to move up to generating scannable barcodes and printing them on your label. Custom QuickLabel software is especially important for printing product labels that require serializing barcodes to track units, doses, or customer shipments. See a list of supported barcodes.

Automatically Calculate Variable Fields:

This labeling software also performs basic calculations on variable fields, such as automatically calculating and printing a label with a “best before date” based on the production date.

Print-Only Option & Prompted Fields:

Custom QuickLabel software gives you the ability to edit labels in the office, while its Print-Only module allows operators on the production floor to pull up read-only access to the labels. Labels can also be partially locked (via label template), with only prompted fields available so that production operator can key in information each time a label is printed. This protects the label against accidental edits, and allows production staff to input batch data.

• Ability to pull up the label database on the production floor. Operators have read-only access, and can only print information they input such as production date.

Label Set-Up Wizard:

This step-by-step prompted wizard guides you to set up a label format. Using the Label Set-Up Wizard makes it easy to save printer settings so that, when you finish designing your label, it prints optimally to the QuickLabel printer you select.

Printing from a .pdf:

Import a .pdf into your workspace just as you would place any tiff, .bmp, .pcx image. If you have a vector-based .pdf, Custom QuickLabel will rasterize the .pdf at your label printer’s highest print resolution. You can also export as a .pdf.

QuickCommand™:

• Automates Label Printing from a Host System
  If you print labels from an ERP system, you will be able to use Custom QuickLabel’s QuickCommand™ module to call a label design, pull in data from your host system or database, and print labels.
  
  
• Translates Label Files from Another Printer Language
  Maybe your company hasn’t always used QuickLabel printers. You may have hundreds or thousands of label formats created for other label printers. QuickCommand™ allows you to pull in those label formats and print them on your QuickLabel printer.

Print a Queue of Label Formats from Any QuickLabel Printer:

Wineries, cosmetics companies, and many others will be happy to learn that you can easily create and print a primary display “front label” and a separate “back label” with ingredients, nutrition facts, and other required information using any QuickLabel printer. Using Custom QuickLabel software, you can create a queue of front-and-back labels (or a queue of any label formats you want!) and print a full roll of labels.

It’s your choice whether to alternate labels, as in the case of “front-back” labels, where each front label followed by its matching “back label,” or whether to print a large quantity of a single label format before cutting into printing a second or third label format part way through the roll.

Print “Knock Out” Text Mask with Advanced Text:

Now you can subtract text from a graphic background or color-fill background. When you create Advanced Text, you can place white text (or text in any color) over a graphic object or color background, and select “print as mask,” to preserve the color of your text over the background. This option prevents your text color from being blended with background colors when you print labels in CMYK process color.  

Automate Adding a Prefix or Suffix to a Field on Your Label:

When you print batch-specific data from an ERP system or database, such as pulling in size, weight, or other product description data, Custom QuickLabel allows you to append or pre-pend a descriptive static field with the variable field. For example, if you are printing a label with a variable field for product weight, e.g., “12 Oz,” you can now pre-pend the text “NET WT” before the variable field. That will give you a clean, easy-to-read label statement: “NET WT 12 Oz.”

Database Support:

Custom QuickLabel can link directly to the following database file formats: Text (ASCII .txt and Windows standard .txt); dBase (.dbf), Excel (.xls), FoxPro (.dbf), Lotus (.wks, .wk1, .wk3, .wk4), MS Access (.mdb), Paradox (.db), HTML Import (.htm, .html).

Additional Database Support*:

Custom QuickLabel can also access various database management systems (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.) through the use of the Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) software interface.

*Note: Additional databases may be supported via the ODBC manager in your PC. You must create your database before attempting to link your database through Custom QuickLabel® software.
