Get to Know Nicole!
As I’ve started to get acclimated here at QuickLabel, I’ve been thrilled with how much I love my job. Not only do I love the work, but also about the people here are amazing! Nicole Moosey is the Supervisor of our Media Specialist Team.
She goes above and beyond to be helpful to all of us here in the office as well as to her customers. Nicole somehow balances it all. I’m convinced she may actually live in the office because she is at work so early, and frequently responds to e-mails throughout the evening.
I really enjoyed interviewing Nicole because it gave me the opportunity to get to know her and her history with QuickLabel much better!
QuickLabel: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and growing up/living in Rhode Island?
Nicole Moosey: Rhode Island is a great state to live in –you have the best of everything. Great food, beautiful beaches and most of all,
all of my family is here. You can say that I am a true Rhode Islander. If it takes longer than 10 minutes to get somewhere, then that’s considered a road trip!
QL: How long have you worked at QuickLabel? What positions have you held here?
NM: I have been here for almost 12 years. I started off in our international department as an administrative assistant. A few years later, a media specialist position became available and I went for it. Now this past April I became the supervisor of our media specialist team.
QL: How was the transition into your new position been?
NM: The transition into the supervisory position has been quite easy. I have always been there to answer everyone’s questions should they need help, now I’m doing that in a different capacity. I’m very excited that our group now has a voice, a spokesperson per se. It’s nice to see the group grow and to see the team members work well with each other. The surprising part was all the people who congratulated me on the new position – it goes to show you what a great group of people we have here.
QL: What do you like most about your job?
NM: I love the people, whether it’s the customers I have gotten to know and help throughout the years or the wonderful group of people that encompasses QuickLabel.
QL: What’s a fun fact that some people may not know about you?
NM: I have a love for singing, baking and enjoy bowling!
QL: Do you have any hobbies that you take part in outside of work?
NM: Currently my hobby is taking care of my little one, Michaela – she keeps me on my toes.
QL: You and your husband Mike welcomed a beautiful little girl, Michaela, last June. How has your first year as a mother been?
NM: It has been trying yet such a blessing. I could never have imagined being a mom could be so rewarding.
QL: All of us here in the office love your baking, what is your favorite recipe? And where did you learn to bake so well?
NM: Being from Rhode Island and growing up Italian, we celebrate St. Joseph’s Day – for which the pastry of choice is a Zeppole. I have perfected making them over the years. There are many influences in my life when it comes to baking and cooking. My Italian grandmother taught me many aspects of cooking and also how to bake her famous prune cookies (normally made at Christmas time). My father is French and for the first 20 years of my life, his grandmother (Memere), who was a baker in her younger years, spent a lot of time at our house baking many different goodies. I have also watched and learned from several other aunts on the Italian side over the years.
QL: What do you think is one of the most challenging parts of your job?
NM: Keeping the customer happy. Should an issue arise, I want to make the customer whole again quickly.
QL: What is your favorite kind of product label and why? (wine, beer, chemical, etc.)
NM: Anything printed on a QuickLabel Systems label printer! Right now, I’m in awe of the beauty and speed of the Kiaro! inkjet color label printer.
QL: Where did you go to school? How did you find this job or decide to work here?
NM: I am a graduate of vocational school for which I took office technology and graduated top of my class. I am quite an advocate of the vocational program in young adults. It is a great stepping stone to future success. Previous to QuickLabel, I worked several office manager and accounting positions, but due to the weak economy, every job that I worked at either closed down or I was laid off. I was eager to find a position which I knew was stable. The job was recommended to me by my sister who used to work in our accounting department. I interviewed and immediately found a connection with the people I met. Almost 12 years later, here I am.
I hope you enjoyed getting to know Nicole as much as I have! Feel free to leave comments with any more questions for her. For any other inquiries or responses you can e-mail Nicole Moosey directly, or call her at 877-757-7978, Ext. 331.
