Introducing the New QuickLabel Plexo! Two-Color Label Printers

QuickLabel Systems is excited and happy to introduce you to the newest addition to our label printer family – the Plexo! two-color label printers.  The Plexo! 453 and Plexo! 653 printers were developed especially for chemical manufacturers who need to print labels that comply with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) labeling requirements for chemical products.

Under GHS labeling requirements, chemical manufacturers and distributors will have to print new warning symbols, color codes, product identifiers, hazard statements, and precautionary statements on their labels.

With the new Plexo! printers, QuickLabel Systems has jumped on board to make your GHS labeling transition easier. Eric Pizzuti, our VP, said “Our Plexo! printers are the simplest way to get into compliance with the new GHS labeling regulations. These easy-to-use printers are essentially like familiar barcode label printers that can print in two colors.”

Everyone knows about barcode label printers, the original single-color in-house label printers. That’s why we’re so excited to bring you the Plexo! label printers. They work just like barcode printers, but have the added bonus of printing labels in two colors instead of just one color! Now it’s easy and affordable to own a printer that lets you add a second color to your labels, a great advantage for adding logos and color codes to your labels, and of course for GHS label printing, which requires a variety of red and black pictograms.

How do the Plexo! label printers make two color labels? By printing labels with two different rolls of colored thermal transfer ribbon, an economical form of printing ink. The Plexo! 453 and 653 printers also come with an automatic Ribbon Saver mechanism that helps to conserve thermal transfer ribbon when it isn’t needed. QuickLabel sells a wide range of colored thermal transfer ribbons, and even sells wide-width thermal transfer ribbons to match the 6 inch wide print width of the Plexo! 653.

What are the Specifications for the Plexo! 653 and Plexo! 453?
The Plexo! 653 prints labels up to 6.4 inches wide (163mm), the perfect size for GHS chemical drum labels. The Plexo! 453 can print labels up to 4 inches wide (106mm), the perfect size for smaller GHS labels and also for general product identification labels. Both models print labels in 300 dpi resolution in user-selected speeds from 1ips to 5 ips (25 mm/s – 127 mm/s). You can see more Plexo! Specifications on our Plexo! web page.

Where can you see Plexo! printers in person? The Plexo! two-color label printers will be seen for the first time in public at the upcoming Interpack Show in Dusseldorf, Germany May 12-18 in our stand B-11 in Hall 11. The Plexo! will make its American debut this June in New York City at the Eastpack tradeshow at our booth #3450. We look forward to seeing you there!
